ARQIV / PRIVACY POLICY
Your privacy.
Plainly stated.
No accounts, no ads and no tracking profiles. Here is what this site collects and why.
EFFECTIVE 2 OCTOBER 2026
Who we are
arqiv.si is published by Oddly Media Production Co. LLC, doing business as ARQIV, based in Brownsburg, Indiana, USA. In this policy, “ARQIV,” “we” and “us” mean that company. Questions about privacy can go to steve.ryan@arqiv.fm.
The short version
- You can read every page and download every lesson without an account, a sign-up form or an email address.
- We do not run advertising, sell personal information, or use third-party analytics or tracking scripts to follow visitors.
- Our classroom materials work on paper, and our student labs run in the browser with no accounts or sign-ins. Nothing a student types in a lab is sent to us.
Information we collect
Server and security logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information when a page is requested, such as IP address, browser type, the page requested, the referring page and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and diagnose problems, and is kept only as long as needed for those purposes.
Email you send us. If you contact us, for example about a school pilot or workshop, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to include. We use it only to reply and to follow up on your request.
What we do not collect. The site has no user accounts, comment sections, payment forms or student data entry. Some student labs have boxes to type in; what you type stays in your browser and is not sent to us or saved. Lesson PDFs and Word files are ordinary downloads and do not track who opens them.
Cookies
We do not set advertising or tracking cookies for visitors, and our own pages do not store anything in your browser. WordPress sets functional cookies only for people who log in to manage the site. Our caching and hosting tools may use short-lived technical cookies needed for the site to load quickly and securely.
Service providers
We rely on a small number of providers to run the site, and they process technical data on our behalf:
- Hostinger hosts the site and provides its caching, security and website tools.
- Hostinger Reach, Hostinger’s email tool, loads a small script from cdn-reach.hostinger.com on each page. We do not show any sign-up forms, so it receives only the technical request (your IP address and browser details).
- WordPress.org may serve emoji images to browsers that need them, which shares your IP address with WordPress.org.
If we add an email newsletter or sign-up form in the future, we will ask for your consent before collecting your address and will update this page first.
Links to other sites
Our explainers, lessons and research stories link to original sources such as journals, arXiv, NASA, NIST and university publications. When you follow a link, the other site’s own privacy policy applies.
Children and students
arqiv.si is an education site for students, teachers, parents and curious adults. Some pages and labs are made for students, including students under 13. We do not ask students for personal information: there are no accounts, sign-up forms or comment boxes, and the student labs run in the browser, so nothing a student types is sent to us or saved. Like every website, our host’s server logs record technical data such as IP address and browser type for each visit. We use these logs only to run and secure the site, never to identify, contact or profile anyone.
Our lessons never ask teachers to send us student information, and this website does not receive or store student education records. Please do not email us student names, grades, work or other details that identify a student. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email steve.ryan@arqiv.fm and we will delete it.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information. We share it only with the service providers above so they can run the site, or when required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it or delete it by emailing steve.ryan@arqiv.fm. We will respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we will update this page and the effective date above.
